For this episode, I tried the new update to SingStar that Sony finally released in the US this past week. And I have thoughts. Lots of them. Mostly about the high scores. But also other things. Why do people insist on fixing things that aren’t actually broken? Also, I need your help with something, so make the jump, watch the vidcast, and share your thoughts in the comments! Thanks!

Dear Diary,

Well, we had Halloween, and even though I didn’t want to really participate this year, I still dressed up and wouldn’t you know, I actually still got a brand new piece of creepy furniture. Without barely trying! Score! There were also a couple of attempted defections and the usual fun. Read on, MacDuff!

Our buddies over at Geeks OUT have just launched a massive Kickstarter campaign to create Flame Con, New York City’s first LGBTQ comic convention! But it’s not just comics, because their release describes the event as “a one-day comics, arts, and entertainment expo showcasing dozens of creators and celebrities from all corners of LGBTQ geek fandom, including comics, videogames, film, and television.”

Since 2010, Geeks OUT has been hosting events for the LGBTQ geek community and establishing queer-positive spaces for fans at comic conventions. (I volunteer at their New York Comic Con booth every year!) But for 2015, they want to invite everyone to Flame Con!

For the grand finale of my New York Comic Con 2014 cosplay photos (I told you there were a lot!), I’ve saved the videogame ones. Here you’ll find a super cute Fox McCloud, a pair of super gay Ice Climbers, a fabulous Yuna, a slightly creepy Wii Fit Trainer, and the most adorable PaRappa!

Oh, and you might also spot me in there, too, as I dressed up for Saturday when I worked the booth for Geeks OUT! ;-)

Here are the rest of the “other” photos, including all the anime, cartoons, movies, TV shows and the plain weird like the boy walking around in bikini briefs with a basket of buns looking for an anaconda (get it?). The crossplay Sailor Moon gang you see above was seriously impressive. I was also delighted to see such random cosplay as the League of their Own player and one of the Guilty Remnant!

Well, in the spirit of Halloween, I’m wearing part of my costume from this year’s party, and I also managed to put down Fantasy Life for a little while to play some Silent Hill. ‘Tis the season, after all! This leads me to ponder whether it’s better to play the classic version of a game or an HD remake… Which is the best experience to have? Make the jump to watch this week’s episode then add your own thoughts!
