Do you know how difficult it is to get in an elevator when the guy next to you is in a six-and-a-half-foot canine costume?

I’m at Further Confusion, one of the largest annual meet-ups for furries. Thousands flock to San Jose each year to socialize, drink, and party. It brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars for the city and quite the spectacle for locals to gawk at and snap cell phone pictures of. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

By now I’m sure you’ve all seen our coverage of the New York Comic-Con 2013 cosplay, Chris dedicated a whole four posts to the amazing outfits based on everything from comic books to anime to movies to, of course, games. But one reader gave us a heads up to one we missed.

Reid Picard and his boyfriend are two massive fans of Mass Effect. Ecstatic about Mass Effect 3‘s romance options for Male Shepard and Kaidan, the pair decided to bring this gaming romance to life.

This is it! The final collection of photos from New York Comic Con 2013. This is the “other” category that lumps together TV, movies and anime (and things I couldn’t identify so just assumed were from an anime that I don’t know about). I loved the Ghostbuster with the Hello Kitty pack, but the “Ghetto Ghostbusters” were pretty awesome, too. This is where you’ll see all of the Attack on Titan costumes, although I stopped taking photos if they didn’t have the 3D gear because what’s the point? I thought the Stretch Armstrong costume was clever, but you can’t really tell that he was wearing yellow makeup on his skin in my photo. Also, there’s a Shredder that’s really cool, and a Rita Repulsa that was serving Power Rangers realness for days!

Now we’re up to the third gallery of cosplay photos I took at New York Comic Con 2013. This is the second half of the comic book-themed costumes. This time around, keep an eye out for a really hot John Constantine, an impressive (if awkward to actually move around in) Elongated Man, a very cool Mysterio, as well as a super-hot Aquaman.

And now gallery #2 of my photos of cosplayers at New York Comic Con 2013! Now we’re shifting into the comic book realm, which I’ve split into two parts because even if Comic Con isn’t so much about comics anymore, most of my pictures were of comic book characters. Naturally, there are plenty of Wolverines, either in a costume, tank top or shirtless, and there were tons of Deadpools (none of which I seemed to photograph). But I was impressed by a Hawkman and a sexy Gambit, plus a really good Dr. Strange. But you’re definitely not going to want to miss the White Queen… er, King. Trust me! Make the jump and enjoy!

NYCC ’13 Cosplay Gallery #1

As usual, New York Comic Con was full of tons of great cosplay. This year, Attack on Titan proved to be quite a favorite amongst attendees (I think because you can actually buy replicas of the uniform online, so there’s not a lot of home crafting involved), although I was more impressed with those who also strapped on their 3D maneuvering gear. And as always, there were plenty of hot muscular guys going around shirtless with cigars and claws as Wolverine. Whatever’s easiest, right? That also explains the slew of Doctors running around, too. But all that is for the rest of the galleries to be posted throughout the week. This first gallery (yes, I took so many photos that I had to split it up into four separate posts!) focuses on the game-related costumes. Standouts are the group of Ace Attorneys and friends, as well as the Oregon Trail cosplay and the Sexy Sora (who is actually a friend of mine!). But I have to give the mad props to Oliver from Ni No Kuni, who said she handmade everything in the costume, right down to the stuffed Mite!

The first gallery is after the jump, so what are you waiting for?!

PokeMEN XY

This past weekend brought with it the worldwide launch of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, the newest entries to the immensely popular Pokemon series and the first for the Nintendo 3DS. Pokemon X and Y versions boldly take the core franchise into fully rendered 3D for the first time, while also introducing features such as character customization, mega evolutions, the new Fairy type, and direct interaction and training with Pokemon using the 3DS touch screen. So far the reviews for the games have been overwhelmingly positive, with many saying that they breath some new life into the eighteen year old franchise.

LA-based photographer and gaymer Matt Baume (who happened to be the official GaymerX photographer back in August) decided to celebrate the release with a fun and risque editorial photoshoot where he re-imagines Kalos region starters Fennekin, Chespin, and Froakie as fit young men hanging by the pool. He’s even brought in a trainer to catch ‘em all through notably kinkier means than a pokeball.

Potentially NSFW images to follow.
