I have an old PS2 EyeToy, which still works. I've posted my video limit (sadly, you can only have 5 online), as well as some pics. Be forewarned, my vids are uber gay. Lol. :D I decided to spring for a PS Eye as well, and I should be picking one up after work today. From the looks of things, the PS Eye seems to have better vid quality, so I figure why the heck not. Hopefully I'll have better looking video up in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, I gotta practice my "stage" presence and performance. Hope to see your vids online soon! ;D

I joined the forum just to see if anyone was talking about the game :) Love it! Probably the most use my PS3 has gotten out of me as well.

I just hope Sony hurries up and adds songs quicker. There was an update today, but why does Europe get all the cool stuff?

I am hoping they work out a deal with Warner to allow Madonna and Alanis songs myself :)

What sucks is, I saw a list come out, and they had Yelle's A Cause des Garçon, but I guess that's only in France/EU? :P I hope they eventually make some deals to release full albums. But man, I am like sinking a fortune into these musical based games, between Rock Band, Karaoke Rev, and now Singstar, I'll go broke! :-X

And what is soooo annoying is that every few times I go into the SingStar Store they have a picture of the Gorillaz CD cover! I read this on another forum too - not out in the U.S., but maybe soon!

I got a ps3 two days ago. What interests me the most about SingStar is the DLC, especially if I know for sure the Spice Girls songs are available in the U.S. song store. Karaoke Revolution sold it's soul to American Idol, so I want to move on up to this.

Can anyone confirm if the Spice Girls songs are available for the U.S. store? I know somebody mentioned before they purchased them, but I don't know what region that person lives in.

I got Singstar yesterday ^.^ The first thing I did was download Wannabe. I don't plan on getting the Playstation eye however. Just because I like to sing, doesn't mean I'm good at it. :P

Yep. They are apparently available for other countries right now. Sony is releasing new songs for SingStar every two weeks. With the announcement of LIPS for the 360, I hope they really step it up. Nobody has access to more music than Sony.

I think it will be interesting to see what kind of music Microsoft is able to provide with their franchise. I had made a comment on gaygamer I doubted Sony would give Microsoft any access to their music, but someone else thought they would. I still doubt it cause we are talking an Xbox exclusive here :)

I will probably buy Lips, but need to get the bigger Xbox360 hard drive if they have good downloads (I have the 20 gigger). Of course I'll face the question just upgrade the HD or get a new console cause my original Xbox360 will probably suffer the RROD sooner or later (not sure how I've survived tis long!)

Sony is releasing a firmware update that will allow you to rip songs from your PS2 SingStar games and port them over to the PS3 HDD for the PS3 versions of SingStar.

I think this is a awesome and cheaper alternative to the singstar store. You buy a $30 SingStar game, some are cheaper, that has 30+ songs opposed to purchasing 30 songs individually in the store that would cost you almost $50, rip them, and trade the games back in. :D

I really hope the U.S. gets this.

EDIT:: Scratch that, it's just a disc-swaping method. DAMN!

Also... not only is there a Vol. 2, but now there's a Vol. 3 for Singstar. And just how are those gonna work? Disc swapping too? WTF, isn't that the point of DLC? To stop releasing these stupid discs?!?!? I mean RLY?!!! What if I want to sing songs from another disc, I have to swap them out every time? GAG :P Who's stupid idea was that?

Not to mention that many of the songs from the older discs were put out as DLC, so we get fucked for double dipping. I mean, I held off on buying some of those PS2 versions because I was hoping they would just have those tracks available as DLC eventually. Fucking money grubbing bastards! >:(

On the positive side, buying a PS2 disc with 30+ songs is still cheaper than buying 30 songs at the singstore, and those with PS3s that do not have backwards compatibility will still be able to use this feature via patch. I'm also glad that when swapping it will still be use the PS3's versions' interfaces.

To use this feature, you press the select button on the song selection carasol. It will eject your PS3 disc, and then you replace it with a PS2 singstar game. The PS2 disc must be in the drive at all times to play the songs.

I hope the firmware will allow the U.S. consoles to use EU PS2 Singstar titles. Their 90's version was a lot better than ours.

Why is the North American SingStar Store so lame? There are so many groups on there that are NOT people that we want to sing. Case in point, HIM. WTF? 1st, who the heck is this person? 2nd, why are there like 5 songs from this person? Come on... that's just lame.

On the other hand, I do love Ting Tings! But really, North America has less songs.. and even a smaller % that are any good.

Yeah the UK SingStore does seemingly get better tunes. I know it all has to do with regional licensing issues, but seriously... they are getting SingStar Queen and SingStar Disney with no release set for US yet.

Abba supposably has been announced for the US in the winter. So you won't have to import those. The Disney and Queen games I believe will be PS2, so you can't import those (PS2 games are still region locked, afaik).

You could import the base games. Alternatively, you can try and create a UK/EU account and cross your fingers and hope and wish and pray that they finally release those PSN store cards. :P

I'm of the opinion that the UK store isn't that great either. Way too many obscure European artists that I've never heard of. The last three updates haven't had anything remotely sing-worthy in them.
