I knew I would never even be in the running, but I'm a little sad I've slipped to seventh... Sigh.

I only entered to let you guys get it started, but I figured since I was close to the end of Mass Effect, I knew I'd be in for a hundred or so points there.

Unfortunately, I like to enjoy my games, so burning through something just for the gamerscore points seems somehow wrong to me. Plus, they closed the Blockbuster in my neighborhood, so I'm stuck what the games I've already got, and I've pretty much already unlocked the points I can. Oh well!

no fears wootini, there will be other less competitive challanges where it's more about playing the hand you're dealt.  this one got a little out of control because of the X-factor that is Tommerag.  he won't be in future challenges, because he's not a member of the forums, an unfortunate slight.  so he kind of was playing by nobodies rules and ended up really, really, really, REALLY wanting that gift card to Best Buy, lol.  at any rate, the ones coming up will be shorter in length, and that way everyone can enjoy them yay! i know this is terrible timing but round 1 has officially ended.  the winner, for anybody that was following along was Tommerag, i'd say congrats, but i don't think he visits the forums here.  plus, i'm petty.  i'm not sure how well the whole Xbox Live thing is going right now.  i can, for some reason, only log in when i am actually playing a game, other than that, it appears to be in a constant state of loading.  regardless, challenge two is officially available for which to sign up:

Title: Stonewall Rebellion

Winner's Reward: 1600 MS Points
Number of rewards left: 193
REMEMBER: Your reward is not guaranteed until you launch your challenge!
Rewards are limited so please launch when you have the required number of participants! Good luck!

this time, as you can see, we only need 5 people, well six because i'm already included.  I think TexCub mentioned starting a second one since we had at least 14 people in the last one, makes the odds of winning better.  and you only have 7 days to rack up the points.  the prize is 1600 MS points, who couldn't use that.  i'm guessing the other challenge will be a similar prize, but i don't want to gaurantee that.  it's pretty much whatever TC picks.  at any rate, i'll launch the challenge at midnight on the day that 5 people sign up.  unless that happens to be tonight, because i don't plan on being here at midnight tonight, for reasons that should be obvious.

I'll probably join up again, even though the e-mail from 360Voice was all "The challenge is over. YOU LOSE!". Kinda harsh, but you know...it's whatever. I had a kick-ass time building achievements, and my gamer score increased, so it sounds like a win-win situation for me!

Eh. I'll try again. Even though I've now cycled back to my Wii. But I'm sure I can find SOMETHING to play on my 360! :-)

ok challenge has been launched, i think the email said it will officially start tomorrow, i have to start launching these things earlier to prevent that in the future.  at any rate, we had six challengers join up this time (five and myself) good luck to everyone.  and since it's just forum members this time round i'm bringing back the "one easy game" rule that i made up.  keep in mind this is completely on the honour system as there is no real way to enforce this.   Grin

and, if you didn't make it in this time round, or you know 4 other people that would like to join up please feel free to start a second challenge and post the info here so people will know it's available.   Grin

ok challenge #2 has "unofficially" ended, the winner of this round was WolverineFactor.  don't be fooled though, he only managed to outshine Wootini by as few as 35 points.  still amazing though.  congrats to Wolvie, please let us know how the reward process goes.  i'm not sure if it will be like the original challenge, in which any prizes that can be rewarded in code form will be provided to you via email.  or you actually have to wait until the card shows up in the mail.

following close behind is challenge #3.  here's the info.

much like the second challenge, it's a level 1.  these seem to be easier chunks of time for people to use, plus it's a smaller crowd of competitors.  and i think the second challenge went much better than the first. so we need 5 members to join, prize is once again 1600 ms points. unfortunately, Wolvie won't be able to join us this time around, because he won the last challenge, but if you decide to create a tier 2 or tier 3 challenge please post for others to take you on.  if nothing else, the last challenge of the "season" will also be available to you, and will either consist of a 8000 ms point prize, or the hd-dvd player.  i haven't really decided yet, since hd-dvd may be going the way of beta.  at any rate, that's still a few weeks away, and we'll have to drum up 15-20 people to start either challenge.

Yeah, don't think I'll join in on this one, gang. That last one took a lot out of me. Though I have to admit, Wolvie did deserve to win, since I technically fudged the rules. I'd rented King Kong to get the easy 1000 points (though to be fair, there were a couple points in that game that had me wondering if it was all worth it!), but then got Scene It as a late Xmas present. Turns out Scene It has a whole lot of relatively easy Achievements. So that's how I ended up racking up so many points. In the end, I was playing Uno and Boom Boom Rocket (also surprisingly hard) to try and be fair, but ended up getting a few more Achievements off Scene It just to make Wolvie work for those last few points. I went to bed last night at 12:30 with only a ten point lead, figuring that should be easy for him to ace out. And he did.

But on the plus side, my gamerscore is higher than I thought it would ever be!

I had been traveling and had put Xboxery out of my mind.  Congrats to WolverineFactor for winning!  Enjoy the 1600 MS Points when you receive them!

I created a second challenge, Stonewall Rebellion - B Squad, that is second tier.  I know there were people that wanted to join last time that didn't get a chance to, so hopefully having two challenges during this third round, we can get more people involved.  I'm going to send out some personal invites later.

Here are the details so far:
Challenge NameAdminDuration    RewardPlayers    Join Link
Stonewall RebellionM0taku    7 Days1600 MS Points5http://www.360voice.com/join/6D145CC5
Stonewall Rebellion B Squad   TexCub14 Days4000 MS Points    10http://www.360voice.com/join/8X3O7WH3

Anyone is welcome to join, but do so quickly!  The challenges will begin when their minimum number of required participants is met, unless I can hold out longer!  If you have any questions, feel free to ask here on this thread or send me a PM or email to texcub@gaygamer.net.  Of course, Motaku is the man that got us all started in the first place, so thanks again to you, Mo!

thanks to you for all the PR Tex.  i think it really helped make the first two contests a big success.  don't think i could have done it without ya  Kiss  and also a big things to all the people that have participated thus far.  i've really enjoyed the competition, and of course any excuse to tack points on to my gamerscore is a good excuse.  even though i really want to punch the people over at THQ for their Disney games  Angry  what 6 year old can complete these goals, honestly!

ok the 7 day challenge is ready to go and will be up and running at 1 am pst, i figure that way it won't mess up the time frame for when it starts recording data  Roll Eyes

also, they need only a few more people for Bravo Team hosted by TexCub, before he can launch the other challenge, so if you didn't make it into the shorter challenge, please feel free to join in on the other challenge.  the time frame is a little longer, but the prize is that much sweeter!

and just a heads up, there will be at least one more challenge for grand prize, oddly enough, it's an HD player for the 360.  or i may go for the option to get the 12 months of free Gamefly, i think that would be totally worth it too.  at any rate, we would need at least 20 people to join, so if you have won any of the previous challenges you can still join this one because it will be a level 4.  it will go for 30 days, and as i mentioned above, will have one of the two prizes.  the kicker is, the challenge must be completed by the 14th of march.  this will give all the challenges we have running now enough time to end, hopefully.  here's the important part, if you're planning to participate, which prize would you rather compete for:  HD-DVD player; 12-month Subcription to Gamefly.  i will try to actually put up a poll if i can, and i'll base the final prize on that.
