I cannot believe it is already December. The gaming busy season seems to be dying down a bit in retailers, not that it means I have less of a stack of games to play through. This week we've got Prince of Persia in all it's beautiful cell-shaded glory. I've got this game on my X-mas list. Fans of the offspring caused by Disney and Square Enix can get their hands on the PS2 remake of Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, originally released on the GBA. Remember that system? PC owners can finally see what all the fuss is over GTA IV. Has anyone else noticed a surge in the GTA commercials on TV? Half of me wants to pick up Singstar: Abba, and the other half of me thinks singing along to the Mama Mia soundtrack in my car is embarrassing enough. Finally, if this weekend has left you feeling a bit overstuffed, perhaps picking up My Fitness Coach for the Wii is a good idea. Now if you'll excuse me, I have plenty of Thanksgiving leftovers to stuff my face with. Fitness be damned!

Good morning to my favorite people on the Internet. I've been up since 4AM and thanks to a diet of caffeine and more caffeine I am ready for a day of shopping. Now now, I know not all of you are eager to knock down weaker shoppers at the local Five & Dime to get the best price on tube socks, so I'll at least update you guys on what hit the PSN for download this week. First off, like all retailers across America, PSN is having a sale. Five dollars for games like The Last Guy, PixelJunk Eden, echochrome, and a couple of others. If you've not picked up PixelJunk, then now is the perfect time. For those of you craving new games, test your brainy might with Brain Challenge or flex your muscles with Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Finally, for all you music lovers, The Killers appear on both Guitar Hero and Rock Band DLC this week, making them pretty damn bipartisan for guys who wear guy-liner. I do love a man in guy-liner. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to shopping. Have a great weekend guys!

Lara Croft may be climbing, swigning, and jumping her way through exotic locales, but next week, the boys are back in town. More specifically, a brand new prince takes up residence in Persia. In the video, catch interviews with designers and journalists alike as they describe what makes this hero different from many of the male protagonists in games today. How refreshing to see a male character being treated as more than a soldier, but an actual living breathing hero. Props to the producers for giving us a hero we don't see too often, manly without being on steroids, and nimble without being overly feminine. Oh, and did you all catch the reference to "smoldering with generic rage"?

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is out and that means I don't have to ever type that twelve syllable title again. Aside from Capcom's sixtieth release of their most popular fighter, this Thanksgiving Eve is fairly quiet on the XBLA front. I'll be downloading the Star Ocean 4 trailer because I'm currently scratching an itch that only JRPG's can satisfy. So how is everyone enjoying the NXE? All I can say is that my avatar looks a bit too much like me, which is just plain creepy.

First, a quick questionnaire to see if this news story applies to you:
1. Are you a Street Figher II fan excited for the HD remake?
2. Do you own a PS3?
3. Are you currently living in one of the fine countries of Europe?
If you answered yes to all the above questions, then get ready for a bowl full of disappointment. While US Playstation 3 owners are going to be able to download Street Fighter II HD today, European owners are being forced to wait. Currently there is no word yet on how long the delay will be, or why this only effects PSN and not XBLA. The game is still expected to be on time when it hits the 360 in all territories with this week. So what's the deal?
How many of our readers from across the ocean were looking forward to downloading the game on their PS3? I know it isn't the first time ya'll have gotten the short end of the stick, so tell me about it. Venting can be therapeutic.
Attention developers of games on the Wii. It is no secret that the system isn't the polygon pushing powerhouse that other current generation consoles are. If evidenced by some of the games released, some of you think the Wii is only capable of Playstation era graphics, and not even the Squaresoft version of PS1 graphics. I want all of you to watch the trailer for Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, a remake of the original Playstation platformer. This is how you do visuals on the Wii. Notice how they're bright, crisp, and work on showcasing the advantages of the hardware and not the flaws. These are what games should look like, no more muddy visuals.
As for the game itself, Klonoa enjoys sticking to its 2.5D roots and is better for it. The original game was a classic and ushered in a new era of sidescrolling adventures, and while a new entry would have been appreciated, remakes can have a tendency to shine. Do yourselves a favor and keep an eye on this one. I know it'll be on my long list of games to check out when/if it hits US shores.

Did you ever hear the tale of the vengeful goddess who sought vengeance against the world that shunned her? What about the witch who was able to prevent total annihilation, but only for so long? Well if you're living in the world of Valhalla Knights 2 for the PSP, this is the bedtime story you hear as a kid. Sweet dreams, you might wake up to the apocalypse. Thus begins a second entry into the action RPG series, one not held highly in many gamer circles. So will Valhalla Knights 2 follow in the footsteps of Godfather 2 and X2: X-Men United or are we doomed to play through the gaming equivalent of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2: The Contractually Obligated Edition?

I'm going to embrace a pun this week and say that gamers have something to be truly thankful for other than turkey. Chrono Trigger hits the DS in an enhanced port of the SNES classic. If you've never played it and have even a passing interest in RPG's then buy this game. If you've played the original, Playstation port, or even a ROM, then buy this game. If you hate RPG's then buy this game. Are you catching my point? This is required playing if you consider yourself a gamer. Doesn't hurt that nothing else of note is released. I guess with it being a holiday in the states, most companies are taking the week off. Enjoy the food, family, and friends, and find something to be thankful for, you know, aside from games.

I have once again become sucked into the world of Animal Crossing compulsively visiting the town each morning to find fossils and pay off Tom Nook. As for dressing my little avatar, I only purchase the finest overpriced merchandise the city has to offer. Though Games Radar has posted an article that might tempt me to get in touch with my inner Project Runway contestant. They've posted 22 geek-a-licious patterns from classic Nintendo characters to superhero logos. While the Wii release is more of the same, the creativity that can go into user generated content gives everyone yet another reason to take up residence in Animal Crossing.
So what designs are you creating?

I will admit that in the past, I've bought a multiplatform game for the 360 instead of PS3 because I wanted to up my Achievement Score. I'm not an achievement whore, but I do love that sound when I unlock a new one. With the implementation of trophies on the PS3, suddenly gamers had a whole new way to display their accolades to friends. The problem was not all games support trophies. What's worse, is that games like Uncharted have trophie support patched in, meaning you've got to replay the entire game from the beginning if you want those digital chunks of metal. Ok, in Uncharted's case it's another reason to return to an awesome game, but not every title is an Uncharted.
Thankfully starting in 2009, all games released on the PS3 will have trophy support included in them. A Sony spokesperson confirmed this information over at Videogamer.com. Will this news be the deciding factor for some gamers? What's your trophy level?

No new games this week, but a deluge of add-on content for a certain horror release. Dead Space takes center stage with the addition of costumes, weapon skins, and more. The other big news is DLC for BioShock adding exclusive PS3 content to an already amazing game. Charging ten bucks is a bit steep for content that one could argue should have been included on the disc. Six new costumes arrive for dressing up your SackBoy in Little Big Planet, and one of them is free. I do love free stuff! Updates for Rock Band and Guitar Hero round out this week. Again, no new games, but enough to keep your old discs spinning in the PS3.
